ナイベツ川湧水（北海道千歳市蘭越）

支笏湖から流れ出た内別川の水で、水量は約6万ｍ3/日と豊富。千歳市民の生活用水としても利用されています。源流周辺には、国指定の「ウサクマイ遺跡群」があり、湧水地内は水源地保護区に指定されている為、立ち入ることはできません。
百選認定を記念して、市は平成元年「名水ふれあい公園」を造成しました。水のみ場も設けてありますが、残念ながらこの公園の水は、浄水場で塩素処理されたものです。

2008年（平成20年）6月、環境省は「北海道洞爺湖サミット」開催に合わせて、新たに「平成の名水百選」を選定しました。昭和の百選と重複しないものを新たに選定し、これにより、百選は昭和・平成合わせて200となりました。道内からは「大雪旭岳源水（北海道上川郡東川町）」 と「仁宇布の冷水と十六滝（北海道中川郡美深町）」の２箇所が選ばれました。。

北海道旅行の際に、各地の名水の故郷を訪ねてみてはいかがでしょうか。
なお、この百選における「名水」に、飲用の適否は考慮されていません。「美味しい水」という基準よりは「水源周囲の環境が地域住民によって適切に保全されている」ことや「水源が地域に親しまれる場所になっているか（近づきやすさ・安全性）」が重要視されています。そのなかで選ばれた北海道の計５箇所は、どこも飲用に適う美味しい水を生んでいます。北海道の自然環境の良さが水質に表れているといっていいでしょう。
