学校生活のあれこれ

小学校、中学校は義務教育だから、日本全国で同じように授業や行事が行われ、長期休みも同じ時期に同じ長さがあるように思っているかもしれませんが、本州と北海道では学校生活にも多少の違いがあるんですよ。気候がぜんぜん違うから、やっぱり全く同じようにはできないのでしょうね＾＾

どういうところが違うのか、今回は、本州と北海道での学校生活でのちょっとした違いに注目してみました♪

まず、北海道の小中高は冬休みと夏休みが同じくらいの日数があります。本州ではたいていの学校が夏休みのほうが長く一ヶ月くらいあり、冬休みが２週間くらいだと思います。だけど、北海道の学校では、冬休みと夏休みが同じくらいあるんですよ！

学生からしたら、「いいなぁ～」、「うらやましいぃ～」と思うかもしれませんが、もちろんそんなにいい話しはありません！なぜなら、夏休みが少し短くなっているからです。曜日や祝日の関係で多少変わりますが、夏休は７月２５日くらいから始まり８月１７日～１９日くらいで終わり、冬休みは１２月２５日くらいから始まり翌年１月１７～１９日くらいで終わり、夏休みと冬休みがだいたい同じくらいの長さになっているのです。
北海道は夏は涼しく冬はとっても寒いので、どうしてもそうなるのかなぁと思いますね＾＾

そして、冬休みが終わると体育ではスキーやスケートの授業が本格化してきます。
学校の校庭やグランドの片隅にある人口の小山を斜面にしてスキーの授業が行われます。ほぼ毎回スキーの授業をするのですが、できない時は体育館でバスケなどをしているようです。
ゼッケンをつけて本場のスキーを体験したり、スキー競争の時間もあったりします。
山の斜面を滑り降りるゲレンデスキーの授業ではなく、クロスカントリーという歩くスキーを授業で専門的に行っている学校もあります。というもの、山がひとつもない平野の街もあったりして、ゲレンデスキーをしようにもできないので、歩くスキーを行っているのです。

授業でスキーを行っているから、北海道の人はみんなスキーが上手なのかと思うかもしれませんが、やっぱり上手い下手はあるし、好き嫌いもあり、スキーではなくスケートを授業で行っている学校もあるので、みんながみんな上手と言うわけではないんですよ。

そもそもスキーなんてスキー場まで行かないとできないし、授業でスキーがあるのは、北海道ならではのように思いますね＾＾
ちょっとした違いなんだけど、自分が通ってた学校にはないものは、うらやましく思ってしまいました(笑)
